■　We are pleased to announce the 14th International Micromachine/Nanotech Symposium, which will be organized by the Micromachine Center and sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization. ■　The symposium is subtitled as “Technology Convergence MEMS: LSI, Nano and Bio” and will focus upon two major trends on MEMS. One is integrated MEMS with semiconductor, being paid attention as enabling technology for expanding MEMS business in two to three years. The other is technology conversion with Nano and Bio which gives us new opportunities to explore innovative devices and systems. These devices will be recognized as hetero functional integrated devices for creation of new lifestyles in the next decade. The symposium will consist of two keynote speeches and invited talks from Japan, Asia, the U.S and Europe and covers from fundamental research to emerging business. ■　The symposium will be a great opportunity for sharing the latest technology information and trends, providing networking opportunities with international scientists and engineers and providing business opportunities by exploring possible collaborations. ■　Registration fee includes the admission charge of the Exhibition Micromachine/MEMS which will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight from July 30 to August 1, 2008. Simultaneous interpretation (Japanese to English and vice versa) will be provided all participants.
