Batch process
0601002-14
[DEFINITION]
A mass production technology that uses molds to manufacture a batch
of identical products.
[DESCRIPTION]
The molds here are not only the casting molds and dies for metals,
glass, plastics and so on, but also include the forms and photomasks used for printing. The term
batch process includes the following processes that use these molds: removal, deposition,
modification, bonding, and so on. The sequential process is distinguished from batch process, which
takes time but allows higher degree of freedom, and therefore is usually used in a stage proceeding
to batch process, for example, preparation of a mold.
